Alabaster vessel (alabastron)

The cuneiform inscriptions are in Old Persian, Elamite and Babylonian, and Egyptian hieroglyphs of Xerxes I (485–465 BC), reading ‘Xerxes great king’. This vessel, restored from fragments, has a pair of lug handles on the shoulders and a flat, ledge-shaped rim.

Found at Halikarnassos, south-west Turkey
