This medal was issued to commemorate 2,500 years of Persian monarchy in 1971. It shows the Cyrus Cylinder. It was presented to Dr R.D. Barnett, keeper of the Department of Western Asiatic Antiquities at the British Museum (1955–74) who attended the festival at Perseoplis on behalf of the British Museum.
